Today in Baseball history, the New York Mets play their first-ever game, losing to the Cardinals 11-4. The franchise was first named as the New York Metropolitans, but we know them today as the Mets for short.
This same year, the Houston Colt .45s were also introduced as a team, now known as the Houston Astros.
It’s fun to look back at baseball history, and there is a lot of it between the two teams from New York City.
