Today, The Cubs picked up Miley’s $10M team option from the Reds.
The Cubs' waiver claim of Wade Miley on a one-year, $10 million was good work — and it also gives some insight into the intentions of teams that could've claimed him before the Cubs. The Diamondbacks, O's, Pirates, Nationals, Marlins, Rangers all passed.

This is a good pickup for the Cubs. I mean, we are talking about a guy who threw a no-hitter this last season. Is he by any means a Cy-Young talent? No. But he is a good guy to throw in the second or third spot in the rotation and keep him for a year or so and then trade him for some decent prospects.
I do not see Wade Miley on the Cubs for long, but he is a reliable starter for the Cubs to use this upcoming season.
The Cubs really need it all when it comes to new talent for this team, but the biggest thing in my eyes that needs to be focused on is starting pitching. This is a great start, but the hunt for starters can’t stop here.
