The Blackhawks are still riding the struggle bus as they are sitting 10 points out of a postseason spot. 10 points is a big jump, and they really need to figure out how to put the puck in the net and win some games. A nice 7-3 run in the next 10 games would be awesome, but somewhat unrealistic for this team it feels like.
But the Canadiens aren’t great either, and this is a big game where they need to grab the two points. The Hawks need to take advantage of when they play these bad teams and add more points to their season, or it’s going to be hard to jump teams later in the year. This is a game where we need to see Alex DeBrincat, Patrick Kane and even Seth Jones play to their full capability and get on the score sheet and play well against a bad Montreal team.
Jonathan Toews still has a goose egg on the year goal-wise, which really needs to get fixed so he can lead his team to more wins.
If the Blackhawks don’t win this game, they dig themselves in an even bigger hole they are already in. Really nothing else to say besides they just need to get points and move on to the next game.
